INDIO CERTIFIED FARMERS MARKET AT BLISS AVE AND TOWNE STREET
Certified produce, fresh hot and cold chef-prepared foods, artisan crafts such as handmade wood and leather gifts, stationery, soap, jewelry, candles and other crafted items will be sold every Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from October through May. The market will also include live music, and a family friendly atmosphere encouraging relaxation and support of fresh, locally made, farm to table items.

TAKE CENTER STAGE
Take Center Stage is a free event in a fenced-in, fully lit area the city is working hard to activate for the community! Come dressed for the weather, the occasion, and wear proper shoes, as the boot-scootin’ will be on an uneven surface. We encourage those who would like to bring their own chairs or blankets to do so—although a seating area with picnic and wine barrel tables will also be provided.

POLO SEASON IN INDIO
Indio transforms into an international destination for Polo beginning in January and continuing through the start of April. You can experience the “Sport of Kings” at two internationally recognized venues locally, Empire Polo Club and Eldorado Polo Club. Tickets available for purchase.

KENNEL CLUB OF PALM SPRINGS DOG SHOW
The Kennel Club of Palm Springs annually hosts one of the most prestigious dog shows in the world and is considered the opening event of the dog show year in the west coast. The Bradshaw Family tradition of superintending dog shows started in 1898 with Jack Bradshaw, and continues through four generations of their family. The tradition continues at Empire Polo Club with the acclaimed Palm Springs Kennel Club Dog Show. Tickets available for purchase.
FAMILY MOTOR COACH ASSOCIATION WESTERN AREA RALLY IN INDIO
The Family Motor Coach Association’s Annual Western Rally is held in January at the Riverside County Fairgrounds. This 5-day event brings nearly 20,000 visitors to Indio. With approximately 109,000 members, the FMCA is the world’s largest motor-home owners group. Participants gather to socialize, view exhbits, attend seminars, and enjoy quality entertainment.
SAND STORM LACROSSE FESTIVAL IN INDIO
The Sand Storm Lacrosse Festival is the premier co-ed lacrosse event. This is a three-day Lacrosse Competition and is a co-ed lacrosse event power packed with competitive club teams from across North America. Teams are comprised of middle and high school players and are slated to compete on 60 fields in the 2019 event. The event is free and open to the public, and is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.
SOUTHWEST ARTS FESTIVAL INDIO
The Southwest Arts Festival is held every year at the Empire Polo Club. The art festival continues to evolve and attract high caliber artists each year. With over 240 artists, visitors will see a variety of traditional, contemporary, and abstract works of fine art. Tickets available for purchase.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY FAIR & NATIONAL DATE FESTIVAL
The Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival started as a festival to celebrate the end of the annual date harvest in the desert region, the major commercial date-producing area in the Western Hemisphere. With the popularity of the date gardens, the idea was planted for the first Date Festival in 1921 to be held in Indio’s city park. In 1940, Riverside County purchased the present fairgrounds it now calls home. For over 70 years, the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival has thrilled people with family fun that includes rides, parades, and shows. Today the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival is focused on providing amazing entertainment and affordable fun to area residents. The annual Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival occurs every February. Tickets available for purchase.
This annual event at the world famous Coachella Valley History Museum celebrates Indio’s pioneers and highlights the history of the Coachella Valley that started in Indio. Families gather to enjoy live entertainment, quilt making, woodcarving, and much more! Admission is free.
COACHELLA VALLEY MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL
MTV recently declared what has been known for some time now – “Coachella has secured its place among the most well-known festivals in the world.” Held annually at the 330-acre Empire Polo Club in the beautiful Southern California desert, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is one of the most critically acclaimed music festivals in the world, six times selected by Pollstar as the “Festival of the Year” and has made Indio the No. 1 City in the United States for Live Music by Matador Network. Coachella mixes some of the most groundbreaking artists from all genres of music along with a substantial selection of art installations from all over the world. Artists have included: Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead, Daft punk, Coldplay, Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Cure, Beastie Boys, Oasis, The Pixies, Madonna, Roger Waters, Prince, Kendrick Lamar, Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé. The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is held on two weekends every April at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.
STAGECOACH CALIFORNIA’S COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL
The Stagecoach California’s Country Music Festival takes place over three days every April at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. The annual country celebration draws the biggest names in country music. Known not only for showcasing big stars, the festival has drawn acclaim for staying true to its country roots as well. Billboard recently applauded the festival for not being “limited to the groups that have a heavy radio presence: it makes an effort to show country’s breadth and depth. A number of prominent figures from previous generations are playing.”
Indio California BBQ State Championship
This KCBS sanctioned BBQ championship draws pit masters from across the nation to compete for a $10,000 purse. As part of the festivities, BBQ competitors will be offering their championship style delights for sale to the public. Come out and sample some of the best contest quality BBQ in the nation!
DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
Celebrate Mexican American heritage and experience this long-standing tradition of honoring loved ones at the Coachella Valley History Museum. Imagine that once a year heaven’s gate opens up to reunite the spirits of the deceased with those of the living. This wonderful holiday is joyful, colorful and is meant to celebrate and honor people who have died. During the celebration at the History Museum enjoy dinner, silent auction, art, tequila tasting and live entertainment. Tickets available for purchase.
The Cabazon Indio Powwow is held at the Fantasy Springs Special Events Center in Indio. Visitors can join dancers in the arena during selected times to participate in a non-competitive inter-tribal dance. Those visiting the Indio Powwow will have an opportunity to taste Native American foods such as fry bread and shop among vendors for jewelry, weavings and other types of Native American arts. INDIO INTERNATIONAL TAMALE FESTIVAL
Created in 1992, the Indio International Tamale Festival has become an annual celebration for foodies across Southern California and beyond. The rich heritage of the tamale, consistent community support and hardworking tamale makers have created a tremendous festival. Recently, the Food Network-TV ranked the Indio International Tamale Festival in the top 10 “All-American Food Festivals” in the nation! Held annually in December, the festival is free to attend. The event is held in downtown Indio right in the heart of the city.
